Favorite notes and the annoying & useless heart icon lol

Currently on iOS any note that is a 'favorite' has an additional row added to the note title and a tiny heart icon placed in it. I think there must be a better way. Yes this may seem like a minor issue, but let me explain my logic and you'll see that it is not really a minor issue, it's actually an efficiency killer and it's annoying to boot haha:
1) I use an iPhone and when I go into a list of notes the screen is big enough to show me a list of 12 notes. But not in the Favourite note list - which is the most important one and the one I use 15 times a day - in that one I can see only 7 notes because they are "Favorite" notes so every one of them has an extra row taken up by the little heart. So... the most important list to navigate and the one that is visited most frequently by many or most users is shortened by half. My note taking app should accelerate my efficiency and but the favorite list makes me scroll twice as much in order to view all the notes, it would be so much better if I could see 12 at a glance instead of just 7. What is supposed to be an efficiency feature actually creates an inefficiency.
2) Do users need a row with a 'favorite' heart in it... to tell them that the notes they are looking at are 'favorites'... when they are viewing the Favorite list? Seems very redundant to me. I'm in my favorite list... why does the app need to tell me that the notes I'm looking at are my favorites? lmao OMG get rid of the heart.
3) I don't know about other users, but after using Nimbus for about a month so far I have had literally zero instances where the favorite heart icon assisted me in any way. When viewing various notes lists I can see which ones are marked as my favorites but what does that do for me? I have yet to experience a single instance when I was looking at a list, saw that one of them was a favorite and then concluded that I needed to go to that note. Zero. The heart does not serve a purpose. When I have a legitimate reason to see, find, or edit a note that is a favorite I press the favorite menu button and there they are. As far as I can tell it's a cute feature that A) provides no practical benefit and B) reduces the amount of notes that can be viewed in the one place where users want to see as many as possible. I do not heart the heart. lol
I find the note spacing to be a problem because it displays that way on mobile devices. The reality is that you are working with a tiny amount of space so it just does not make sense to take up nearly 50% of your very precious vertical room by taking up a row with the little heart icon.
Solutions to consider:
A) I dunno if the programming will allow you to put the heart to the right or left of the title, but if so that would be so much better than taking up an entire row.
B) Get rid of the heart altogether; users can still make a note a 'favorite' and then view it in the favorite list but it doesn't necessarily need an icon. In Evernote they do something similar but they call it "Shortcuts". Any note can be added to "shortcuts" and viewed but there is no special icon.

Simple is good. 45% of precious rows taken up by a heart icon that serves no purpose is just clutter. Turf the heart please.

PS: If you have users who get angry if you turf the heart, send them to this post and maybe they'll see the point. On the other hand, if there is actually a benefit to having the heart icon, please reply to this post and tell me your thoughts. I'm bewildered by it so if it can be of benefit let me know!
