It is often very useful to have a given note always appear at the top of a given set\list of notes.  Empowering users with the ability to pin notes achieves this goal and increases the value Nimbus Note brings to the user. 

Also, while I selected "Nimbus Notes Web" as the sub-category, I would think this applies to all platforms.
