I was very disappointed and frustrated (as with many other) when Mozilla 'cancelled' FVD from Firefox. I found a great alternative with many features with the Nimbus produced 'Live Start Page'. It has some great features and also some annoying style options/decisions. I have been using LSP for the past 14 months in hope that Nimbus would resolve FVD with Mozilla.

I have just discovered that you have, in a way, in that I was able to install the product from everhelper, and finding that FVD now shows as 'Nimbus Dial'. However, there are some aspects of LSP that I now enjoy. Namely, backgrounds having the ability to scroll through a selection, and double-clicking on the dial main area to show the time. I much prefer the 'groups' setup from FVD being single tabs over the right screen pop-out of LSP.

How about the developers/designers get together and make one kick ass speed dial / start page, that is far more configurable to include all the best from both offers from Nimbus.
