This is about NB web. I do not use desktop version! So, please, when you reply, don't offer me old or new (sync & non-nsync) desktop version. I use only NB Web.
1. Good, you got rid of the full screen overlay message when internet connection is lost that prevents us from even reading note that was ALREADY open and displayed while internet connection was ON.
It was ridicolous "feature". It's gone. Keep it very dead.
Now, as it was always case before, once I loose conection I am able to continue reading note that is already open and displayed and do some basic editing (adding or deleting txt) and NB just syncs it when is back online. Nice.
2. It's not fully dead.
IF I open the note WHILE I have internet on, and THEN, without closing down NB WEB, I hibernate my laptop because I have to drive or relocate to another place, WHEN I open my laptop in the location where I do not have internet, Nimbus is back - WITH OPEN AND DISPLAYED PAGE (note) that I left it on when hibernating, BUT with the same freaking dark grey full screen overlay message that obscures the text of the note and prevents me from even reading the note.
NOTE IS THERE! It is not gone, it doesn't need to be loaded again, IT IS THERE DISPLAYED BEHIND OVERLAY MESSAGE, but because of the dark full screen message I cannot even read let alone continue doing basic editing.
That is not a feature, it is apsolutely unnecessary annoyance and hinderance to working and using NB.
Please don't tell me that NB can' load notes offline. I know that! It doesn't need to load note. Note was already loaded while online and it is still loaded and displayed when coming back from hibernation! NB just needs NOT TO SHOW the freaking full screen overlay message! That is all.
This behaviour is particular ONLY to Nimbus! All other apps I tried DO NOT behave like your app.
NB is good app, I love it, but with major flows that I hate (slow and no real export & backup at all as the biggest), but I am able to work. I apsolutely don't like some stuff but in the same time, for my needs there is no better app then NB.
But, this annoying and unnecesery "feature" - message over whole screen that nobody needs, acctualy prevents me from working and I started migrating and exploring other apps and started using them. Yesterday I noticed that you removed this "feature" so it doesn't show up when NB is open and connection is lost (described under 1.) wich made me happy, because I can live with other flaws but not with this one and even if I hate some bugs, I do not wish to migrate acctualy.
Please remove this "feature" from poping up when coming back from hibernation too.
If you want to warn users that internet connection is lost, you can do it in the bar above the note and keep note itself visible, readable and with the most basic editing features on (ading and removing text, as it always worked before).
How others do it:
EN web
When internet connection is lost, small message shows up top. I can still read the note and do some basic editing and it syncs when laptop gets internet connection back.
It behaves the same when leaving the note open, hibernating and then coming back from hibernation.
Notion web
When internet connection is lost, small message shows up top, note is visible, I can read it and do some basic editing that is synced when connection is back.
It behaves the same when leaving the note open, hibernating and then coming back from hibernation.
How you do it:
Why? What's the point? How this helps us? How is NB now better?
This is what I get when coming back from hibernation. Very "useful" feature! Please remove this overlay message when coming back from hibernation and allow us to read the note that is displayed right there under the overlay message.
You did fix this when loosing connection (as described under point 1) but this is how NB Web still behaves when coming back from hibernation. Please remove this.
Some of us have to open the note while we have internet, hibernate, travel, and then come back from hibernation and continue reading (or just adding basic txt) where we do not have internet.
It was all well just before a month or so. Please, remove this fully.
