The purpose and use of tasks in Nimbus...!??

Can someone please shed some light on the topic of the purpose and the use of tasks in Nimbus?

When opening the Web-Client the "What's New?-button" flashes and makes me look: The blog says, I should try tasks in Nimbus and I can create a new one directly from the activity panel... OK. I try things out. And I have to learn that the Windows desktop client is showing the page at the end of which I did create a new task list. But I cannot see the task list because there is a version conflict! Even worse: when opening the same note on the IPhone or IPad the contents of the note is gone and I am informed that my version of the app is not able to display such sort of information...

Well...
So what sense does all this make then?

And is a tasklist not the same as a to-do-list? The Button in the upper right corner of a note is labelled "To-Do-list. But there seems to be no relation to the feature "tasklist"... is this correct.

Fortunately I am not using Nimbus for task management...
I can understand that not all features are working on all platforms in the same way. But the current implementation is a "no-go" in my opinion. Or have I got something wrong?
